Hamodava Pito One Coffee

Originally operating out of a well loved trailer, the now permanent structure for Hamodava Pito One coffee is a massive upgrade creating a welcoming space that acts as the entry to the Te Kōhanga Manaaki community playscape.

The small structure has a beachy yet stylish vibe, with a pop of colour to the walls and curved parapet making a statement, yet also complimenting the concrete structure church building behind.

The parapet wall to the roof continues over with clearlight roofing giving a covered space for tables and chairs - a nice space for parents to relax and catch up while watching over their kids having a great time on the playscape.

A large servery is achieved by the bifold window giving a large open space for a food cabinet and space to order and chat while your coffee is being made.
A roller window to the side also gives an alternate serving space facing the street for when weather is not co-operating, while also giving a space for artwork and signage to be displayed.

The project was a big community effort with so many trades and volunteers coming together to plan and build not only the coffee kiosk but wider playscape. This has led to the space truly being a space for the community, and by the community where people can meet, connect and belong.
