Weather Tightness
It is a requirement for buildings to be designed to meet the provisions of the New Zealand Building regulations, B2-Durability and E2-External moisture.
This primarily involves designing according to The New Zealand Building Code Acceptable Solutions B2/AS1 and E2/AS1 along with approved alternative solutions using accepted cladding manufacturers details.
At AD Architecture we ensure your project will comply. We undertake on-going professional development training in this critical area, remain conversant with the requirements of the code, communicate regularly with Building Consent Authorities and continually obtain up to date information from cladding manufacturers.
Many houses have external cladding that was installed prior to the current building regulations being in place. It is possible the cladding will now be nearing the end of its useful life, and may be leaking to some extent or simply look out dated. Click here for example.
One of the services provided by AD Architecture is the design of exterior house re-cladding using materials that will give both an enhanced aesthetic appeal and achieve building consent acceptance. In addition to providing the necessary drawings and documentation we can also assist in the selection of a suitable builder, and provide construction monitoring.
